My left-coast buddy Darius says he has never voted other than NDP in his life—with the possible exception of last election.
He is also probably not guilty of anti-Chinese racism. His wife is Chinese, his daughter half-Chinese.
But he complains about how Chinese Vancouver has become.
The problem is the problem I have noted: “multiculturalism. The Chinese in Vancouver, he laments, live as though they are in China, attending Chinese churches, going to Chinese dentists, and so on. They are not integrating, and show no desire to integrate. Their real home remains China.
What you have, in such a situation, is a colony. Canada is being systematically colonized.
The problem is not immigration, but multiculturalism. The expectation must be to integrate and contribute to Canadian culture.
The other thing Darius laments is that in Canada you can no longer say what you think. You are obliged to pretend you believe impossible things.
I think many lefties are walking around with eyes wide shut. Someday soon they will be woke.
