Typical of how poorly--and carelessly--the mainstream media treat religious subjects, this story incorrectly locates the basilica of Ste. Anne de Beaupre--hardly obscure-- in Trois Rivieres.

I found what appears to be a pendant that has "SAINTE ANNE DE BEAUPRE" and an image.
I live in Canton, NY and the pendant was found in a wall while doing renovations of my 1840's home. The pendant is attached to a ... (maybe marble)piece and has a metal back with a "arm" to hold the piece up.
I have found similar pendants while searching but never one matching as the only words on the pendant are "SAINTE ANNE DE BEAUPRE", while the other pendants include other lettering.
Is there any reason one would place Sainte Anne De Beaupre in the wall? I have never been a person of religion and am looking for some background help.

I know of no special reason, but you can probably be sure that some previous owner of your home, or the contractor, was French-Canadian. Ste Anne is a traditional patron for French Canada, and it would be normal to put her image on a wall. Makes sense too to put her image _in_ a wall to bless the home.
