Playing the Indian Card

The time has come for a Canadian professional baseball league.

Baseball has always suffered in Canadian eyes for being considered "America's pastime. " This was never really true: baseball actually has roots as deep in Canada as in the US.

American baseball has left the Canadian market open, with the exception of Toronto. Why not create our own league, on the lines of the CFL?

Any such trans-Canada competition helps national unity.

Here are my proposed teams:

Montreal Royals
Calgary Chinooks
Edmonton Magpies
Winnipeg Nor'Westers
Ottawa Shiners
Hamilton Bobcats
Quebec Fusiliers
Vancouver Lotus Eaters
Toronto Red Rockets
