Why I Thank God Every Day I Do Not Live in Canada

Idiot cops, what was the point of that anyway?

Two things surprise me:

[1] that they didn't immediately taser the guy

[2] that they allowed the video to be kept

I wasn't sure if Roney was referring to the cops or the idiotic protestors. The cops seemed pretty reasonable in their approach, especially as compared to US cops, though I'm not exactly sure what the context was. If they were asking protestors to move along because they were blocking traffic, however, I'm not sure what the problem is.

I guess what is too obvious to me to require commentary is not as obvious to you. But here's the first clue: there were no "protestors."

Ok, I took the common-sense move and went to the website where the video was taken from. It looks a little harsh, but I am not sure what the context is. Are permits required? Were they bothering neighboring businesses or residences, which may have been the reason for the complaint? I'm just trying to understand the entire story so as to better judge the cop's actions. Without that, I am reluctant to condemn. Every story has two sides, regardless of how obvious it is to one side.

Seems to me the necessary context is already there in the video. According to the cops, the charge is "blocking traffic."

Now take a good look--who exactly is blocking traffic?
