Those who follow this blog regularly may have noticed a certain absence of paid advertising recently.
The reason for this, I think, is my recent blatant use of "the n-word": "nigger."
Kind of makes you understand why AP did not dare use it, even though it was the crucial information in a straight news piece.
Kind of makes you understand why there are so many important things the mainstream media dare not say. Their livelihoods, after all, depend on those paid ads pouring in.
Nor are the advertisers to blame here--it's not their business to alienate people. Just the way the world works, and how social pressures for conformity can be so strong.
